Reorganizing TALUG

(Meeting 1)

  • Responsibilities and Leadership
    • Responsibilities: (What needs to happen for TALUG to live? Please send additions to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
      • Updating the website
      • Recruiting new members (Making flyers and distributing them)
      • Scheduling rooms
      • Finding speakers and topics
      • Taking notes at meetings and updating the website w/ them
      • Taking attendance (managing the list of official members)
      • Defining direction for the lug outside of the regular activities
      • Collecting donations
      • Managing the TALUG treasury
      • Burn CDs
      • Announce meetings
    • Traditional roles ( will be decided later ) ( 7 members willing to serve )
  • Elections / Democracy
    • How to structure elections:
      • How often: yearly
      • Who may vote: members (as defined below see “official member”)
    • Quorum:
      • (to be decided)
    • Membership
      • official member: someone who attends 3 meetings a year or participates on mailing list or pays annual dues
      • who can vote: official members as defined above
  • How should TALUG be organized?
    • Constitution (loose, short, and simple)
