======================================================================= TALUG Meeting Announcement ======================================================================= Topics: PfSense When: Saturday, April 26th, 2008 2:00pm - 5:00pm Where: The University of Toledo, College of Engineering Room: NE1026 Who: Presented by the Toledo Area Linux Users Group (TALUG) Open to the general public Details: Based on the powerfully expressive pf packet filtering from OpenBSD, and built on a base from FreeBSD; pfSense is a feature-rich, extensible, open source firewall and routing solution. It allows for advanced features such as policy based routing, packet normalization, passive OS fingerprinting, layer 2 filtering, NAT, redundancy and multli-WAN connections, and multiple VPN options. But wait - there's more! Dynamic DNS, RADIUS integration, and captive portal! This in only what is included in the base - there are many easy to install addon packages. You've probably heard about it on the mailing list from a couple of people. We will cover at least the basics of setup and usage of this powerful, yet easy to use firewall solution. If time allows, I will also cover some of the features I have found more useful, as well as any requested topics. *** Linux distributions on CD will be available FREE of charge. *** *** Request in advance! ***
