An interface by any other name... ifrename
ifrename allows for the user/administrator to setup consistent names for interfaces
- c configfile – set the interface configuration file to be used (/etc/iftab by default)
- p probe kernel modules before renaming the interface
- d enable various Debian specific hacks (only load modules for interfaces listed in /etc/network/interfaces when used w/ -p)
- i interface specify the interface
- n newname specify the new name, must the used with -i
- t name takeover, only supported in 2.6, no hotplug
